Hello everyone! I am currently in Kunming@Yunan, China.

I have been travelling for almost the whole day during the journey to Xishuangbanna, and it wasn't a pleasant one of course. And it was a trip where I had received lots of fruitful and meaningful experiences. Ok la, I shan't explain much further. I have to leave soon, see you guys back in Singapore again.

12.24.2008

Readers, I will be leaving Singapore in less than 24 hours for the mission trip via Xishuangbanna@Yunan. I am very excited at the prospect of joining this type of trip, enabling me to see more of the world, well only part of it. Especially when going with a bunch of great people, like my two best pals Kok Chye and Wei Qian. Super steady is what I am feeling now.

So I guess I would not be posting anymore until next year...

I hereby wish you an advance MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 TO ALL OF YOU READERS OUT THERE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND TAKING OUT THE TIME TO READ MY BLOG!

This year has been full of ups and downs, well perhaps more downs than the ups. But still this year also brings lot of memorable events and tragedies. Moreover I accepted Christ. I believe the year 2009 is going to be another challenging year, given what we have gone through now. Perseverance and determination is what motivates me on, and of course, God would be a new motivation for me and my life. =)

Take care and God bless all of you.

12.22.2008

As year 2009 is arriving at our doorsteps, I just want to take the time out to revamp my whole new blog skin. Well actually it's not a new blog skin, it's one of the random templates I used in Blogger. The only disadvantage is I can't put my tagboard for my fantastic readers to comment.
In addition, I just set up an account for Facebook, I am still new to this so please guide me along, if you have any great stuffs or applications.

Just 2 more days to the mission trip, I can feel the pressure piling up. Guess what? I am proud to be doing one of the song leading over there! Will be singing as a back up on the first day, and then singing with Jacq on the second day as a duet I guess... I promise there would not be any screw ups and the whole singing thing would be a success. Initially I thought that I would only be in charge for the outdoor games only, at least now I know my money is worth it for the trip eh? =) Amen to that.

Tomorrow I would be going back to JB to get my hair done, again. Mom seriously can't take my hair no longer, thus dark brown would be the acceptable color for me. It's something good too, I would not be that outstanding to the crowd over at X'banna. It would be weird if I went there in my current hair color now, and scare the crap out of them. LOL
I am super exhausted! And I have not been like this for ages! I am beginning to get back those times with Wei Qian, Kok Chye and Chien Ming, especially at the early birthday celebration of Yee Ling, Kok's sister. All this fatigue and tiredness is truly worth it. =)

Another few more days to the my flight to China. I am getting a chance to sing over there, though I am shocked initially, but still I am glad I am of help to this mission trip team. Do more things, make the trip and the money paid worth it. A Christmas gift for the Lord himself. =) Amen to that eh.

Team 'Arey PaPa' did not make it to the final five teams. But I am definitely sure that my teammates enjoyed themselves, those who never came, it's their loss. I must say although we joined 'Youthquake' for just one day, our total score beat some teams whom participated last week and today. Imagine if my team participated in both outdoor and indoor events, we will confirm get into the finals without sweating out. Okay I am getting arrogant, again.

Teammates: Wilfred, Louis, Yao Jun.

Firsly I am very happy to have you guys in my team and participating in the indoor games at Christ Church Secondary School. Wilfred, I know you stay very far and still you traveled down to Woodlands in the early afternoon to meet me, so I hope the lunch treat did motivated you during the games. Yao Jun, I know you are going through quite a tough period now, I do hope the games brought you laughter and some team bonding within us. Stay positive! Louis, I knew there wouldn't be a problem getting you to my team, I do hope you had fun as it is our first time playing together as ATFKERS. I'm sure there will be other opportunities in the future, but the next time, let us all hope there will be girls in our team alright ?! =)

Oh by the way, the good news: Mom wants my hair back to the normal colour. She complains that my hair is too blonde, and scaring people away. It is a good thing actually, I am sure the mission trip teammates doesn't want me to go there with my hair like that. =) But does that means getting my hair cut over there? =( Oh my...

12.20.2008

I am so not having the discipline to pray! The day of the mission trip is drawing near, I need to start now or else I'm going to have trouble praying over there.

Today, which is a Saturday, is going to be the second part to the 'Youthquake' event. And the games will be tested on using your brains. There are no outdoor games, purely indoor of course. There are some games that I encountered before, so it should not be a problem to my team.
I am sure you readers would want to know my team name, it is called 'Arey PaPa'. Cool eh ?

I am so honored to have invited Wilfred, Yao Jun and Louis to my team. We are so going to beat the others down. Team 'Arey PaPa'! Chiong Chiong Chiong!

I want to reflect on this topic that sister posted on her blog: ' What do you want to be when you grow up ? '

I know it is still early for me to think about this, but still it is worth doing some reflection on it. I know I have many readers coming to my blog, so I hope you would share your views on what you really want to be after graduation, be it from polytechnics, ITEs or even universities.

From young, I always loved watching cartoons, especially heroic genres; like 'Ultraman', 'Spiderman' and other heroes you see on television.

So I tell myself: ' I want to be like them when I grow up! ' Saving the world and all those crap phrases you often hear in movies.

But all this seems unrealistic, as we become older, you realize that more problems begin to surface, and that superheroes also have to work their guts out, so that they could pay for their costumes and living expenses, and living a normal life just like us. Forget about superheroes for a minute, they are normal people too, having their own ambitions and goals to achieve.

In Singapore, everywhere in the society now is full of competitions and hypocrites. Of course, your paper qualifications are a must-have if you want to survive in this cold-blooded environment. There are two paths you can choose from:

1) Study really hard, score well for every single piece of examination you take, get into Director's List, get all those required paper qualifications and start your first job working under your boss and looking at his sickening face everyday until you start getting a promotion, which will take around 3-4 years? This is the conventional method for all nerds, geeks and the kiasu type of people.

2) Quit school right now, start your own business and be an entrepreneur. Be your own boss and hire those graduates whom are filled with talented qualities and certificates as mentioned in point 1. But do take note that those who choose this path have a low percentage of becoming successful as there are bound to be ups and downs throughout this journey. If you are not someone with perseverance and determination, then this path is not suitable for you. Oh I forgot to mention, those taking this paths are people who are very creative and possess exceptional analytical skills and abilities that Category 1 does not have.

There is one path that you can also consider, which is attractive to some - Jail Sentence. Choosing this path has its benefits though, you are given a cell with other jail birds to bond with, three meals being provided a day, morning exercises to keep you fit and lively, working in the afternoon and lights out at a fixed time so that you have a minimum sleep of 8 hours. The government feeds and supports you, so you consider giving it a try. But do this at your own risk, cause this path requires you to do something bad in order to be selected into this path.

I will be covering the various government sectors the next time; IT, Engineering, Business, Medical and etc.

So there are in total three paths to choose from as to what you want to be when you grow up.

Do you want to work under your superior and slugging your guts out just to get promoted and and living that rigid lifestyle where you see repetitions in your working life daily?
Or become a person with substance, setting your own business empire and driving those luxurious cars and living in a big mansion with all the blings-blings and gorgeous women dying to jump into your float?
Or going to jail?

What you want to be? How are you going to do this ? Think ! and reflect on this...

The above mentioned is what I feel, so if you do not agree with what I shared. I do not blame you. I am open to criticisms and compliments.

Went out with the ATFKERS* yesterday, destination was City Square@Johor Bahru. Also it was the first time I experienced the new system at the Customs there. The environment was much more cleaner and ventilated, quite similar to our airport terminal, just that ours was much more better. If you are a frequent traveler to our neighboring country, better get your sports shoe now cause there are lots of walking inside the new custom building.

There is a tradition that I always follow when I come to City Square, and that is to feast! So along with me were pilots Yao Jun, Wilfred, Tiger, Louis, Jian Xiong and Darren. It was just pure eating and shopping madness, plus a 6 ringgit movie too! Oh yeah this attractive movie price is only available on Wednesdays. =) Left the place around 8 plus in the late evening.

Next stop: Bukit Panjang. Wilfred wanted to drink, so we accompanied him. Chatted among ourselves at this random playground somewhere around the area. Just received news yesterday from this friend of mine. Think positive and look ahead cause life does not end here. It is just the start of something new.

Alright then, thats all for yesterday. For today, I think I am down with food poisoning. Got a hat-trick for visiting the toilet this morning. This resulted in a lost of sleep and making me weak like rubber now. My butt hurts...

12.16.2008

Just felt the rush to blog suddenly, maybe I've got things to tell. Lets start off with today's morning activities:

You guessed it, I woke up late today! Supposedly meeting Sharity and Larry at the interchange before going down to NUS to play tennis. Ended up only Wei Qian, Kok Chye and me, the three of us again, traveling down to our destination. During the bus journey we made a few assumptions, resulting in traveling twice to and fro in the huge campus, humorous. Finally spotted the tennis courts and started smashing balls till 1 plus in the noon.

Actually Wei Qian and me had to go down to the National museum as sister organized this event over there, the time to meet was around 11.45am. HAHA, we were still in our tennis' mood that time, and completely forgotten the whole thing. So of course sister got quite mad I think, like old times the 3 of us quickly changed and rushed down to the museum.

During the journey to the museum, sister called to say the event ended. Okay at that moment, the 3 of us felt like we were being punk'd. By the time we met them, we had Long John Silver for lunch before sister and her friends went home. Slacked around Plaza Singapura before Chien Ming and Wei Qian prepared for their BTT.

I shan't mention their overall results. =(

The past few days was awesome! I admit there were ups and downs throughout this period. But luckily friends like Kok, Qian and Larry were always there la. So I felt much better already. =)

Wednesday:

City Square trip with the ATFKERS.
Since young till now, I have never actually looked into the insights of Little India. Today was the actual debut tour around that place, of course coming along were jailbirds Larry, Kok Chye, and Wei Qian. Had prawn noodles for the first round before heading on to check out the flea market around the area. It was something inspiring as I saw people setting up random stalls trying to get their stuffs sold. It was quite an eye-opener because you get to see items that are in our ancestors' time. I want to set up my own stall and sell all my unwanted stuffs too!

Next our second destination was Mustafa shopping centre, Wei Qian wanted to get his soccer shoes from there. And I had a bad stomachache, so I assume you know what happened next la. The toilets there were a real mess. Had problems getting my crap out you know! OK sorry I shall not describe the process. Sorry... =)

So, what was the next thing that we are going to eat? Scissors curry rice! A recommendation from Kok Chye, it was nice bodoh! But when Larry started complaining that there was another place much better than this, I started to get suspicious with Kok's taste of food, again.

After resting, the four of us started walking again, in search of another place to explore. In the end, our walking ended up making us exhausted so we took a random bus that brought us to Tampines. Did abit of window shopping around, and bought some ear studs. We walked till evening, then took another bus to Old Airport road to settle our dinner there. You readers might think ' Wa how do you guys travel around so conveniently? Don't you have to worry about your ez-link funds? '

Well the solution to this problem: Get your own bus concession, today! =)

Last destination: Geylang, again. Wei Qian wanted to checked out the second-hand shops' rate on his touch phone. For me, well just want to take a look around the place again la. Events happened there, it was super funny la. But I will not mention here again. There's a little privacy involved though. =)

OK OK that is all for today!!! =)

Tuesday: NUS - Tennis
Dinner with Joyce.

Sunday:

I have been going through crap for the whole yesterday, especially from 11pm-3.30am in the morning. Though I will not mention what happened, I have to admit I broke down cause the incident was too much for me to take. Well due to this, I missed church service today.

In the evening, there was this soccer match that was held in school. I am not sure whether I could play given the chaotic situation at home. Wei Qian told me there was a shortage of players for the team, so I decided to give it a shot. It was a game between two teams from different churches i think, I have to say, it was a very exciting one.
Played centre defense for my team, fortunately I did not make myself like a fool in front of the church adults. I gained match experience from this game as some of the adults gave me tips on analyzing the game from the defense line itself.
In the second half, I played for 15 minutes before getting back to the bench. Now here is the exciting part, my team mate Ivan could not continue so he switched with me la, and his position was right wing, I had no choice but to play that position.
Then here comes a free kick for our team, the ball flew and I just started sprinting for it, without hesitating I tried a shot, and it was a GOAL ! =pppp

I have never scored in any games especially in fields. But today was a memorable one for me, I scored, and at the same time, a debut goal for the church team. I am very happy and honoured la. But my goal did not create any impact though, as the score line was a thrashing one. My goal was just adding to the numbers on the score sheet.

Ok so the morale of the story, I scored and am very happy. =)

Today activities :

Trip to Little India. =)

12.12.2008

20% completion, 80% more to go.

Why do I say that? The last two papers that I am taking would be the hardest in Aerospace history ever taken. I still tell myself to persevere on, using the people around me as a tool of motivation. I can't stand some people around me for this moment. Hopefully my results can send a warning to them that even though I am not as HARDWORKING AND KIASU as them, I, noobthenick can still do magic during this common test period. =)

Thank you.

I still have not start planning for the games for the upcoming mission trip. Damn...

12.11.2008

I know it's early in the morning, I should be in bed by now, but all the mugging have kept me awake. At least today's paper isn't going to be a scary one, just like the first one I took on 10 Dec. It's a total waste of my time, especially when you have lots of time left and you can keep re-doing the paper to ensure the absence of any careless mistakes that might occur. Okay okay, I better be humble before someone starts to badmouth behind my back.

There's this funny incident I want to share with you readers right after my first paper ended. We were in a commotion over this particular question whether the angle used on our calculations was correct. The angle was either 80 or 100 degrees. Using your ability called the 'Common sense', that either angle used on the calculations would result in different answers. Then here comes the exciting part, my friend whom I shan't mention, told us with 100% confidence that both angles, regardless which was chosen, would result in the same answer! I have to admit I lost my temper and flared at him, but in a funny yet sarcastic approach. You should have seen his face la, you will laugh man. He looked stunned and confused when I 'shoot' him down, it was only Louis told me then I realize he was mad at me. In addition Yao Jun told me he is quite intolerant with my attitude. To him maybe, to the rest I don't see them having any problems with me.

Anyway, it was fun studying with Trey, Louis and Yao Jun. Especially when we share our personal feelings and stuffs. It's not gay, chill if you are having the wrong idea. Men discuss, women gossip.

Oh my condolences to Yao Jun, who received his results on the Rolls Royce selection. He did not get in eventually, let alone the two girls. Sad but still life goes on, look at the back side, I mean bright side, you still have our companionship in Singapore !

Miss all my Talk Cock group comrades, not sure whether there will be another chalet next year. Everyone's busy with their own lives, oh well at least I'm still in contact with some of them, should be alright. It's currently my first day of being 18! So live my life to the fullest, forget about studying for one moment. Try not giving a damn ! =)

12.10.2008

I have officially turned 18 on 9 December 2008. It's not something prestigious, but it is this day that I can start to break the law legally. Being 18 is also taking the first step into adulthood, means becoming someone with more responsibility and maturity.

Unfortunately, my birthday falls on the week where common tests are held, so there were no celebrations held for me. But it did not made me moody, instead Mom brought me to Johor to do my hair again for the second time. Well since it's my big day, I'm sure my hair wouldn't mind looking new. If you readers are lucky, you might get to see it, Wei Qian and Kok Chye are the first two who have already seen it.

A big thank you to all out there who sent me their wishes and blessings, I really am touched and felt every single bit of your sincerity. Do you know my inbox almost burst due to the OVERLOADED incoming messages since this morning ! But I am thankful that all of you people including my loyal readers remembered my birthday. The sad thing is some of my closest friends did not wished me, abit sad cause... well never mind. It's the heart that counts. =) HUGS!

I will be taking my first paper in the afternoon on 10 Dec which is today, and I'm not sleeping yet! Wait la, I want to post everything before I head to bed.

After arriving back in Singapore from our neighboring country, I studied at home for awhile before meeting up with Kok and Qian again. They got me presents, my first and the last! And it's chocolates! Okay, during this period the both of them are raising funds for their trip and yet they still bought it for me. It is really something touching that during that time, I might not seem thankful on the outside, but inside there's this very warmth feeling inside la.

The 3 of us, supposedly wanted to have dinner at Causeway Point, ended up at Bukit Timah market for dinner. We had a feast! S-O-N-G was the only word in our stomachs. Chilled out at Railway Mall where I attempted to purchase this bottle of liquor. The cashier, not only did she not check my card, she also gave me a beer opener! What the!? I wanted to show her that I'm 18 ! Maybe it's my hair that is giving her the impression that I'm 22?

Eventually the day was wrapped in style, I tell you, it is very tiring! Forget about studying for one moment, close your eyes now and think back into those secondary school days...

Through those days, the times, ups and downs that we all been through together...
Looking geeky and nerdy in our school uniforms...
Struggling during our CA and Final Exams... Prelims and O Levels...
Boy-Girl relationships that we used to be in...
Talking loudly in canteen during our recess time...
Getting into detentions and being late for school, yet we still have breakfast before coming...
Groups' midnight cycling, chalets, outings, birthday celebrations...

18 years of fun, laughter, fights, arguments, sadness and memories...

I want to thank everyone for giving me such unforgettable memories...

=)

iNoobthenick turned illegally 18!!!

12.08.2008

I must say the weekend was a very tiring one for me:

Saturday-

Attended cell group in the morning, followed by a quick lunch before another round of briefing and training to prepare ourselves for the mission trip. Everything ended at 7pm, went home straight and whipped up some quick revision, met Kok Chye for dinner at 10 plus in the night. Louis caught up with me in the bus later, and we headed down to Yishun before another bus took us down to Padang. Did you realize something? I never even closed my eyes to rest at all!

Sunday-

Managed to rest well in the shuttle bus, reached our destination and it was a massive crowd of helpers at the Padang in the late morning! Got my tee and met some friends there too! Fortunately the sector that I'm helping out had some friends there too, so that I will not feel lonely. The unfortunate thing was I met some irritants there too. I shall not mention who those are.

I'm sure you readers have a slight guess what event I am helping out eh, it's the Standard Chartered marathon. I was in charge of the drinks' station at the 18km point, and at 6.30 plus am, a few runners from Kenya actually reached our point when the race was supposed to start at 5.30am. Imagine how fast their pace is, 18 km in less than an hour. Coool Crap!

Endured until 10 plus in the morning without any sleep, I must thank Him for that cause I prayed before that for energy and strength. I saw lots of familiar faces during the race, including my pal Billy! He gave me a chocolate gel to wake up myself up, thanks la! =) I don't wanna describe what happened at the drinks' station, the people there are all irritants, especially people from other polytechnics.

Finally everything ended! Reached home at around 4 in the noon, I quickly washed up and head to the bed straight without any hesitation.

Monday_

Hi readers, I just woke up and am now posting this post ! =)

5 december 2008

A day that I will never forget... The day I accepted Christ... Praise the Lord... Amen...
